MIXED MEDIUMS
Working with a variety of manipulated mediums is a creative process I have really become passionate about .
This became apparent at the end of my UAL Level 3 Art & Design diploma studies ,as I developed my FMP "Nostalgique".
During my art foundation year 2020/2021 despite covid & lockdowns I have continued to explored a variety of mediums.
All processes are self taught through research & experiments.
I hope to be able to explore ceramics, metal work, glasswork & other organic or chemical based mediums in the future, in a structured well equipped environment .

Using the narrative of hands through manipulated mediums to create a symbolic context that was influenced by communication, feelings, emotions & touch. All elements of my personal life & our lives that have been impacted so much this year (2020/2021) living through the Covid pandemic.
The english language became my unexpected source inspiration for my context notably idioms & expressions .
I expressed words & actions through sign language & hand gestures in a variety of casting mediums in colours that hold symbolic meanings to emotions & the planet we live on to create a cast hand sculpture representing the notion ‘Hope in Our Hands”.

The brief to devise a narrative & respond in a creative way.
My narrative was "How do my life experiences influence the way I see art?'
The context & response - as I started my FMP I was greatly inspired by very specific life experiences particularly travel. I travelled to New Zealand & Tahiti in February 2020 which fuelled this notion.
In March 2020 Covid struck, I became nostalgic & thought a lot about my memories .
The outcome is a personal reflection interpreted through a range of mediums I had during the lockdown period.
Ephemera inspired a collage effect , memorabilia in the form of paper train tickets , a link to travel , embroidered icons on tickets encapsulating my personal memories, contrasting with embroidered textile representing the flora symbols of each country I had visited , fixed to a recuperated wooden board.
